Award-Winning Journalist to Discuss Women, Gender Parity, and the Right to Identity
with Ajay Banga at Women in the World
Women in the World’s Annual Summit takes place at Lincoln Center’s Koch Theater in New York City this week, beginning Wednesday, April 6th. MasterCard is once again a proud sponsor.
On Friday, April 8th – the closing day of the conference, Tina Brown, founder and CEO of Tina Brown Live Media which puts on the summit, will conduct a 1:1 discussion with MasterCard CEO Ajay Banga from 9:55 am to 10:20 am. The discussion will focus on the right to identity – especially for women, and MasterCard’s private sector leadership in advancing women’s power, purpose, and potential. To complement the on-stage conversation, MasterCard has created a microsite highlighting the role of identity and financial inclusion in empowering women.
The summit began in 2010 and attracts 2500 women a day from diverse backgrounds. Extraordinary leaders, inspirational activists, and political change-makers convene from all over the world to share their stories and to offer solutions to building a better life for women and girls. The audience is largely made up of influencers from government, entertainment, arts & culture, education, business, and philanthropy. Speakers this year include leaders in their fields from Meryl Streep and IMF Managing Director Christine Lagarde to Today Show Co-Host, Savannah Guthrie, and World Food Programme Executive Director Ertharin Cousin.
MasterCard’s Chief Financial Officer, Martina Hund-Mejean, will lead a delegation of more than 20 leaders from MasterCard as well as client companies who will attend throughout the week.
