Head, Market Development and Innovation, MasterCard Australia and New Zealand
Garry Duursma is the Head of MasterCard’s Market Development and Payments Innovation team for Australia and New Zealand. In this role Garry has responsibility for the acceptance side of MasterCard’s business, as well as the new technologies that are being rolled out to support innovative methods of payment.
Previously Garry was the V.P for Sales and Marketing of Tyro Payments. During his 7 years with this business, as part of the executive team, he adjusted the business strategy and developed the go-to-market, from before the commercial launch of the business, through to a highly profitable business, with over $4.5 Billion in card transaction volume.
Garry has also been the G.M of Sales and Marketing for Keycorp Limited. In this capacity he was responsible for all go-to-market elements, as well as strategic planning for Keycorp’s transaction solutions business.
Prior to Keycorp, Garry was Hewlett-Packard’s, General Manger, Asia Pacific, Financial Services Industry Business Unit. In this capacity Garry was responsible for strategic planning, business growth and customer satisfaction for Hewlett-Packard’s financial services business in Asia Pacific.
With any (rare) spare time he gets between his family and work commitments, Garry enjoys the personal challenges found in activities such as: cross country skiing, mountaineering, surfing, scuba diving and ocean swimming.
