Singapore – January 11, 2017 – Attesting to its continued focus and commitment to supporting the growth of its business across the region, Mastercard today announced three new leadership appointments for its Global Products and Solutions team in Asia Pacific.

Benjamin Gilbey has been appointed Head, Digital Payments and Labs, Asia Pacific. In his new role, Gilbey will be responsible for driving widespread adoption across the region for Mastercard’s digital payments products. He will also oversee Mastercard Labs, the innovation arm for Mastercard, spearheading projects from conception to commercialization. Gilbey comes with more than a decade of experience in digital payments and product development and over the past two years in Mastercard, he has been part of the Digital Payments team managing the rollout of Masterpass, the organization’s flagship digital payment service, to merchants in the region.

Jason Fryer has joined the team as Head, Commercial Payments Solutions (Product Management), Asia Pacific, leading the division’s growth strategy for the region. Fryer joins Mastercard with over 25 years of global experience across a broad range of product, marketing, business development and partnership functions in the payments industry.

Angela Jones has been appointed Head, Prepaid and Financial Inclusion, Asia Pacific. Jones will lead Mastercard’s prepaid strategy in the region as well as focus on expanding the organization’s financial inclusion efforts in the region. Additionally, she will be responsible for growing Mastercard’s consumer products with a focus on Southeast Asia and South Asia. Jones has been with Mastercard for the past 16 years, and has held multiple roles in sales and product management. Most recently over the past three years, she has been responsible for overseeing Mastercard’s Smart Data suite of products globally.

According to Julienne Loh, executive vice president, Global Products and Marketing, Asia Pacific, the three leadership appointments signal Mastercard’s commitment to strengthening its product and solutions offering.

All three individuals are based in Singapore with their appointments being effective immediately.
