Co-President, Asia Pacific
In his capacity as co-president for Asia Pacific at Mastercard, Ling Hai oversees all the company’s activities in the region, including business strategy, sales, business development, product management, marketing, and engagements with business customers and regulators. He is also a member of the company’s Management Committee.
Prior to his current role, Ling Hai was group executive, head of Enterprise Development for Mastercard. Based in London, he oversaw merchants and acceptance, pricing, mergers and acquisitions, and strategy for all international markets outside of North America. Between 2010 and 2014, he served as division president of Greater China, overseeing all aspects of the company’s operations in mainland China, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan.
Prior to joining Mastercard in January 2010, Ling Hai was head of partnership business and co-brand marketing with PCCC, a joint venture between HSBC and Bank of Communications. He was instrumental in developing and managing merchant partnerships in the areas of co-branded credit cards, installment loans and preferred merchants.
Ling Hai has also worked with Bank of America and MBNA in the U.S. in product development and customer insights, where he spearheaded innovation through new products, markets and channels, and leveraged research and development to create insights-driven marketing and product innovation. He also worked in management consulting with Booz Allen & Hamilton and A.T. Kearney in both the U.S. and China.
Ling Hai is a director of the Board of Cuscal Limited. He also serves as a trustee on The College of Saint Rose Board of Trustees. In addition, he is a senior advisory board member of CDIB Capital International, an investment company and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network and Fellow of its China Fellowship Program.
Ling Hai graduated from the College of Saint Rose in New York, and obtained his Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Chicago, Booth School of Business.
