We’ve tasked five bloggers to put down their cards and cash and just use Android Pay – whether they’re soaking up culture in London, shopping with kids or out on the town. You can see how they get on over the next few weeks. First up, Gadgets Boy and You Baby Me Mummy.
Gadgets Boy used Android Pay for the weekend and weighed up the pros and cons.
“What I really liked about using my smartphone to pay for things is how I don’t have to leave the app I’m using to pay. For example, if I’m in the middle of replying to an important email, I don’t have to stop or close down the app to pay for my coffee or tap to go on the London underground.”
You Baby Me Mummy took her Mastercard with Android Pay for a soggy shopping trip. As someone who is concerned about security, she found the app’s enhanced security comforting. And as a busy mum she was pleasantly surprised when using the app on-the go:
“I was really surprised with how easy it was to use. It was literally a case of holding the unlocked phone over the terminal briefly and after a beep it was all done. Immediately the transaction was displayed on the phone. This was a great way of keeping track of my spending on a shopping trip. It certainly kept me in check!”
