MasterCard treated lucky cardholders to some exhilarating and luxurious Priceless Surprises at the Goodwood Festival of Speed this year, ahead of becoming the festival’s first-ever headline sponsor in 2017.
The Festival of Speed is the world’s biggest and most luxurious motorsport event and is the only place motoring fans can get so close to the most legendary collection of cars, motorbikes and drivers in the world. MasterCard’s sponsorship is based around passions, and this year we wanted to bring our cardholders even closer to the action, offering once-in-a-lifetime moments that take their experience of the festival to the next level.
Over the four-day event, cardholders were encouraged to share their priceless Festival of Speed moments on social media. Through social media, MasterCard reps then surprised cardholders with experiences such as:
Rally stage passenger ride – the rare opportunity to be co-driver on Goodwood’s Forest Rally Stage, where more than 100 cars hurtle at exhilarating speeds through the trees. Starting with an introduction to the team and car, cardholders were then strapped in for the ride of their lives!
Infamous Goodwood Hillclimb experience – the most incredible experience of the event. Lucky MasterCard winners were given the drive of a lifetime tearing up the Goodwood hill in the fastest supercars and burning around performing donuts outside Goodwood house. After signing on at Goodwood race control, they were provided with a racing suit and driven up the hillclimb with a few extra turns along the way. Cardholders were also taken up the hillclimb at speed in an Aston Martin road car.
A personal meeting with Sir Stirling Moss – cardholders spent unforgettable time with one of the greatest drivers in the world, and Goodwood royalty, in the Drivers’ Club, followed by Afternoon Tea.
