As an Official Patron of the The Open at St. Andrews, MasterCard this week gave a handful of lucky golf fans a Priceless Surprise at the home of golf, with one of their ambassadors.
In between media interviews, 2010 US Open-winner Graeme McDowell took the time to pop into the MasterCard Club where cardholders are enjoying privileged access during the Championship.
Following his first round he stepped in to the bar to pour a few pints and take questions from the fans.
“I’m thrilled to be able to bring fans closer to the game with little surprises like this. The support they give to us as players is priceless, so the least I can do is pour them a pint!”
This week MasterCard also led a social media campaign for Tom Watson – another one of its ambassadors – in his final appearance at the tournament. The campaign is urging fans and fellow players to show their appreciation for the five-time Open winner by tweeting their personal tributes to him using #HatsOffToTom.
