Mastercard at Women Economic Forum Latin America 2019, Driving Inclusion through Technology

In a time where great strides are being made toward achieving gender equality and increased inclusion, Mastercard is proud to be part of the movement by sponsoring the Women Economic Forum Latin America 2019, a first-of-its-kind regional event that aims to foster empowering conversations and connections among women. This year’s theme, “Gender equality: Toward achieving sustainable economy,” explores the necessary role that inclusion must play for the economic development of the region, through a comprehensive 3-day agenda.

Kiki Del Valle, SVP Digital Partnerships, LAC will discuss how technology can be leveraged to help female entrepreneurs drive their business to their full potential and how taking active steps to prepare young women for careers in STEM increases their opportunities for prosperity in today’s digital economy.

Marcela Carrasco, President of Andean Division will be talking about the necessity for companies to make a real and substantial commitment to women’s equality as employees, consumers and citizens – on all levels and in all aspects of their operations.

In addition to these panel sessions, Mastercard also will be hosting a Girls4Tech booth, a program created in 2014 to inspire young girls to build STEM skills that will help them become the leaders of tomorrow. Through this initiative, Mastercard has reached more than 400,000 girls in 25 countries around the world.
