Through the launch of MasterCard Travel Services in 14 markets in the region, the brand is set to transform travel into a priceless experience

MIAMI – April 7, 2015 – MasterCard Latin America and the Caribbean today announces the launch of MasterCard Travel Services, an enhanced suite of travel benefits that add value, offer unique savings and makes traveling easier for Platinum MasterCard and MasterCard Black cardholders.  The benefits were developed as a result of extensive consumer research focused on the needs, attitudes and values of consumers in the region.  They also complement the brand’s existing card benefits – positioning MasterCard as the perfect travel companion and enabling smooth and rewarding travel experiences before, during and after a trip.

 “Consumers in our region are traveling more domestically, intra-regionally and internationally,” said Vanesa Meyer, head of Consumer Credit for MasterCard Latin America and the Caribbean. “Therefore, there was a clear opportunity to enhance the traveler’s journey, making the trip even more enjoyable, easier to plan and much more priceless.”

With the launch of MasterCard Travel Services, MasterCard is doing precisely that. Highlights of the suite of travel benefits offered by MasterCard Travel Services include:

  • Personal Planning Assistance/Travel booking: Platinum MasterCard and MasterCard Black cardholders will have access to personal travel advisors to assist with their travel planning needs, from flights, accommodations and car rental to tours and cruises. This is in addition to MasterCard Concierge agents who can assist cardholders   in experiencing a destination ‘like a local’ – including dining reservations, tickets to shows, and other events.
  • Preferential treatment at Hotel and Resorts: MasterCard Travel Services offers a portfolio of over 1,000 resorts and hotels.  Each property offers room upgrades and late checkout/early check-in (upon availability), free breakfast for two daily, and a special amenity.
  • Savings, Benefits and Upgrades: Cardholders will be able to select from an array of offers to maximize their trip.  These extend to air travel through key airline partners, car rental, luxury tours, and shipboard credits on numerous cruise lines.
  • In addition to the above, there will be seasonal offers for the ever-changing needs of the consumer.

MasterCard Travel Services offers these benefits in addition to the already built-in traveler benefits each card has, such as various travel protections and emergency services, as well as MasterCard’s Priceless Cities platform, and for MasterCard Black, access to more than 450 airport lounges around the world.
