Joao Pedro Paro
João Pedro Paro Neto is MasterCard President for Latin America Southern Cone. In this role, he leads MasterCard business initiatives, looking for market opportunities and managing a multifunctional team focused on increasing MasterCard profitability and growth in Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Uruguay and Paraguay markets. He also serves as a member of the LAC Executive Leadership Team.
Before being named geography president, João Pedro Paro Neto was group head, Sales for Brazil and previously, he was responsible for the Itau account, one of the top 10 largest accounts worldwide.
Mr. Paro Neto has more than 30 years of experience in the financial services industry. Before joining MasterCard in 2007, he served as sales director of Tokyo Marine Brazil, a Japanese insurance company subsidiary. In that role, he was responsible for the company’s entire branch network, as well as the sales team for the broker’s channel.
Previously, Mr. Paro Neto worked for ABN AMRO Bank managing the bank’s assurance business and for Citibank as the director of Credit Products. His career started at Itau where he worked in many areas such as commercial, corporate, middle market and leasing. He left Itau as director, South Region of Brazil.
Mr. Paro Neto has earned an Advanced Executive Program (AEP) degree from Kellogg School of Management (Northwestern University) and has also a bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering, with specialization in Production Engineering from University of Sao Paulo, Poli.
