It has been an enriching experience attending the World Economic Forum on Africa in Kigali. Today reminded me of an African proverb: “If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.”
Africa presents incredible opportunities for those who are willing to invest time and energy to develop partnerships that can deliver results, and change lives. Our commitment to Africa has once again been reinforced by our announcement today with the Government of Rwanda. We have been chosen as a strategic partner to develop a Cashless Rwanda, in line with the country’s Vision 2020 strategy.
As a technology company we are dedicated to digitizing economies across Africa, so when presented with an opportunity to collaborate on a multifaceted strategy as announced today, it inspires us and motivates our teams to keep innovating.
MasterCard recognizes that in order to unlock Africa’s true potential, the private sector needs to play an active role in accelerating access to safe, sustainable and affordable financial solutions. We will continue to expand our partnerships with a broad spectrum of private and public sector players to introduce innovative market-specific solutions that accelerate financial inclusion across Africa.
