Mastercard Innovation Forum 2016
Mastercard highlights the importance of innovation and the impact technology has on everyday life at the company’s annual Innovation Forum in Budapest, Hungary. Kicking off today, 27 September, the two day event will see over 300 delegates from across the Middle East and Africa and Europe join the conversation to explore what “Innovation at the Speed of Life” means in today’s tech-savvy world.
Industry experts along with world-renowned speakers and innovators from the technology, financial and retail sectors will exchange ideas at the highlight anticipated event. Mastercard, a global technology company in the payments industry, will showcase recent solutions and products that are impacting lives across the world.
The technology company will be sharing their insights, highlighting best practices and showcasing the importance of partnerships. Panel discussions include Enabling Seamless Payments in Smart Cities, Innovation and Inclusion, The Impact of Innovation and Driving Digital in a Fast paced World.
Mastercard will also be launching their new Mastercard Impact of Innovation study at the Forum. The study surveyed a total of 23,000 consumers in 23 countries across Europe, Africa and the Middle East about their attitudes towards digital technology. The study gathered data from over 1,000 internet users with bank accounts between the ages of 20 and 50.
Attendees will be engaging with Pepper, the famous robot that is changing the way consumers are ordering and paying for their favourite pizza. Additionally Mastercard will demonstrate the importance technology plays on merchants, with a look at the Masterpass QR solution recently launched in Nigeria and Pakistan – in collaboration with banking partners.
Moving to a ‘world beyond cash’ is a central theme at the Innovation Forum, with a look at how Mastercard is working with partners to develop payment ecosystems that are revolutionizing economies. One such case study is the work being done with the Central Bank of Egypt, with focus on introducing 3 million mobile wallets to the dynamic North African country.
Mastercard views payments innovation and simplification as the key driver for inclusion. It is not just about making payments – it is about bringing efficiencies and cost reduction to the way the world works.
