Making financial inclusion a reality
At this year’s World Economic Forum on Africa (WEF), MasterCard will once again be contributing by highlighting its commitment to developing cashless economies in Africa. The WEF theme of Connecting Africa’s Resources through Digital Transformation is aligned with MasterCard’s approach to creating more inclusive payment ecosystems for all Africans.
MasterCard is taking a strong delegation to the Forum, led by its President for the Middle East and Africa, Raghu Malhotra. The technology company will be actively involved in a number of speaking sessions at WEF, sharing insights, highlighting best practices and showcasing the importance of partnerships in delivering a stronger Africa.
Sessions include a key panel discussion on Responsible Investment in Fragile Contexts with Omokehinde Adebanjo exploring the MasterCard team’s work in Nigeria with Mercy Corps. MasterCard will also be talking to Innovation as a New Driver of Growth in Africa with Daniel Monehin, who will be highlighting how the company is using big data in the merchant space at the Deloitte Business Breakfast. Leading a FinTech session, Chris Bwakira will stimulate and drive a group dialogue on Delivering the promise of FinTech in Africa.
