MasterCard Women’s Leadership Network attended the Global WIL Economic Forum 2015, part of naseba’s Women in Leadership (WIL) series, as an Association Partner earlier this month. This year, the 17th edition in the series, took place on November 2nd – 3rd 2015 in Abu Dhabi under the endorsement of the UAE Ministry of Economy and was focused on advancing women’s participation in the workforce and increasing their business opportunities in the economy
Ronel Lundall, Senior Vice President, Customer Delivery Head, Middle East Africa, MasterCard was a panelist at the ‘Women in the technologies of future – Innovating your future and empowering women through technology’ panel, which addressed the myths discouraging women from tech careers, closing the tech gender gap and boosting women techpreneurs with business skills training.
During the forum, business experts shared their knowledge through dynamic conference sessions and commercially focused networking activities. Prakriti Singh, Dubai WLN Lead, commented on the event: “The session had top notch speakers addressing very pertinent topics – it was great to learn how other corporations are advocating women’s leadership both by having women in executive positions and also by discerning how to reach women as consumers.”
According to Dana El Far and Sylvie Vermeersch who were both at the event, the Forum was a unique and inspiring event where MasterCard played a role of global thought leader for diversity. With speakers coming from varied backgrounds – technology, FMCG, Consultancy, Media and Energy – it was clear that there are women role models in all fields. They left the event inspired, energized and proud.
