Once again, MasterCard earns a perfect 100 from the Human Rights Campaign, 2015 Best Places to Work, Corporate Equality Index.
The CEI is a national benchmarking tool used to evaluate corporate policies and practices around lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender employees. Some ways MasterCard supports the LGBT community include: participating in the annual PRIDE marches; creating a domestic partner benefit program and offering transgender benefits.
This honor comes on the heels of the release of the diversity white paper from MasterCard’s Global Diversity Office, which spells out why the company places such a high premium on inclusion. As President of Operations and Technology at MasterCard, Rob Reeg, says, “It’s amazing how far we’ve come on LGBT rights in such a short time. Our company has shown a commitment to diversity and inclusion over the years.” You can read more of Reeg’s comments in The Advocate, here.
Congratulations to all of this year’s HRC awards recipients!

Several years ago I was at a reception hosted by MasterCard. The purpose was to honor black women in technology, I believe. You showed a video that I’ve mentioned to others many times since but cannot track down. Maybe you can help. It focused on MasterCard as a technology company. It went something like this: Most people think of MasterCard as a credit card and finance company. But really, we’re a tech company. How else could we execute thousands of electronic transactions around the world every second? It went on in this vein and spoke about the need for a diverse and technical workforce.
I work with NCWIT, the National Center for Women & Information Technology. I’d like to be able to show this video to educators with whom I advocate for computer science education. I try to impress on them the point that computing is the backbone of every business and service sector, and that fully half of technical people work outside of ‘high tech,’ which means opportunities abound. Your film would help NCWIT illustrate that point.
Thank you.
Is MasterLabs (Master Card) interested in a volunteer to work in its Global Diversity program?
Part of the demand for employment is too great and the occupation requires employees to truly love the job, with aesthetics and high creativity. So the training of the tools is not necessarily made you become a good multimedia designer.
Will these activities continue when the pandemic is over?
Every human in this world is equal and have equal rights. It doesn’t matter if you are poor or rich if you are human then you all are equal. Many people don’t know about the human rights and they violate the rights of other. To fight with these kind of people we should run a campaign so they also know about the rights of all the people.
I strongly agree that all citizens should be treated equally as this will promote diversity and inclusiveness in society.
