Mastercard Evolves Organizational Operations in Greater China

Dennis Chang to Lead New Greater China Division

Mastercard announced a series of organizational changes today, which will help solidify the company’s delivery of strategic priorities in the region. Realigning operations to allow for greater synergies, Chinese Mainland, Hong Kong SAR, Macau SAR, and Taiwan will operate as the newly formed Greater China division, led by Dennis Chang, who will take on an expanded role as Division President of Greater China. The structural changes and related appointments are effective as of May 16, 2022.

Dennis Chang brings close to three decades of extensive experiences in payments, banking, and the airline industries within Asia. In his previous role as Executive Vice President and Division President of China, Dennis maintained a laser strategic focus on growing the company’s business in China, where his in-depth knowledge of the industry and new technologies, married with his flair for forming unique collaborations and partnerships have been well recognized for the development of new and disruptive innovations within China’s burgeoning payment landscape. In his new role, he will oversee the operation and growth of Mastercard’s businesses across the Greater China region, unleashing the powerful synergies within it.

Prior to his tenure as Division President of China, Dennis served as Head of Market Development of Greater China and General Manager of China, where he played a leadership role in driving online and mobile payment businesses and promoting the usage and acceptance across markets. Before joining Mastercard, he worked in leadership roles across Shanghai Rural Commercial Bank, ANZ, Bank of Communications and HSBC, where he held various roles in credit card, retail banking, marketing, trade services, and commercial banking. Dennis started his career in China Eastern Airlines.
