June 14 , 2020 - QNB Group, the largest financial institution in the Middle East and Africa, announced that it has become the first bank in Sudan to successfully implement an international payment transaction using a prepaid virtual card, in cooperation with MasterCard, a global company specialized in payment solutions technology. QNB is also the first bank in Sudan to obtain a license to issue cards from MasterCard.

The first successful international payment transaction that was implemented using the prepaid card on June 14, 2020, is an important historical achievement in the framework of the strategic plans adopted by QNB Group and MasterCard in Sudan and the continent of Africa.

Under this partnership, QNB will issue and accept MasterCard-branded payment cards in Sudan, which will allow more people and companies across the country to benefit from more convenient, secure and easy methods for local and international payment transactions. The new product from QNB and MasterCard is a secure, innovative and accepted solution worldwide for digital payment transactions, including e-commerce sites.
