February 26, 2025 | PURCHASE, NY & TORONTO, ON

Mastercard has appointed Erin Elofson as division president, Canada, effective March 31. A proven leader with deep experience in technology, media, and financial services, Erin will guide Mastercard’s Canadian business with a focus on innovation, strategic growth, and strengthening customer relationships. She will report to Linda Kirkpatrick, president, Americas and join the Americas leadership team.

“Canada is one of Mastercard’s largest and strategically important markets, and Erin’s leadership will help us build on existing strong momentum,” Kirkpatrick said. “Erin’s track record of scaling businesses, fostering innovation, and putting customers at the center makes her an excellent fit to lead our next phase of growth in Canada.”

Elofson brings more than two decades of leadership experience in high-growth technology companies. Most recently, she was head of Canada & APAC at Pinterest, where she built and led operations across multiple markets, aggressively growing the Canadian business. Before that, she held senior roles at Meta and Microsoft, working closely with major brands and industry partners to expand digital and financial solutions.

“Mastercard is an innovation leader, helping businesses and consumers navigate an evolving digital landscape with security, trust, and ease,” Elofson said. “I’m excited to join this talented team at such a pivotal time, building on the company’s strong foundation in the region and working alongside our partners to drive meaningful impact.”

Elofson succeeds Balinder Ahluwalia, who has served as interim division president, Canada, since predecessor Sasha Krstic transitioned to lead Mastercard’s integration of cybersecurity acquisition Recorded Future.
