Managing Director, Dial a Nerd
Aaron Thornton joined his brother (Dial a Nerd Founder, Colin Thornton) and a few of his varsity friends in 2000 to “help with the phones” and is now a shareholder and the Managing Director of the company.
Having cut his teeth in the working world as a waiter in the service industry from the age of 16, Aaron’s skillset lies in building and maintaining relationships with clients, suppliers and employees alike.
In keeping with the entrepreneurial spirit of Dial a Nerd, Aaron has handled HR, procurement and sales, and branch management & then more recently the consolidation of the company to mention just a few positions. In the last 24 months, Dial a Nerd has migrated through some major changes, which has required a focus on consolidating staff and clients into a central Gauteng office. Leveraging all he has learnt over the last 14 years, Aaron and the rest of the management team, has found it at times difficult, but ultimately extremely satisfying to “grow up” and mature the company into what will become a fully managed services provision organization, capable of supporting clients of hundreds of users.
