Chief Commercial Officer
Betty DeVita is the chief commercial officer of Mastercard Digital Payments and Labs and is focused on building out its commerce platform and expanding adoption of Mastercard digital solutions such as Masterpass, Qkr! and Groceries by Mastercard across multiple geographies and use cases. Ms. DeVita utilizes strategic partnerships to commercialize and scale the platform that goes beyond payments and enhances the consumer experience, using mobile payment, commerce apps and connected devices.
Prior to this role, Ms. DeVita served as president of Mastercard Canada. There she oversaw all aspects of the company’s operations, including regional strategy, business development, acceptance expansion, operations, regulatory, marketing and product introductions with a mandate for continued growth and innovation.
Before joining Mastercard in September 2010, Ms. DeVita served as chairman and CEO of Citibank Canada where she led the franchise and its 5,000 employees with accountability across all lines of business. She previously worked in Citibank divisions in Latin America, the U.S. and Asia where she led the business to topline growth and spearheaded the acquisition of a large bank. She also served on the Executive Council of the Canadian Bankers Association and in 2014 was inducted into the Women’s Executive Network Hall of Fame as one of Canada’s Most Powerful Women. Ms. DeVita is actively engaged in leadership initiatives and programs that increase women’s participation in the C-suite and Boards.
Ms. DeVita holds a Bachelor of Science from St. John’s University in New York and is a graduate of the CEO Certificate program at Wharton-KMA in Seoul, South Korea. She earned the Institute of Corporate Directors certification from the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto. Ms. DeVita sits on the board of directors of Molson Coors Brewing Company. She is currently the chair of the Ted Rogers business school advisory council at Ryerson University.
