Jeffrey D. Mullen

In 2007, Jeff Mullen founded and seeded Dynamics. Dynamics designs and manufactures Interactive payment cards and advanced payment platforms.
Under Mullen’s leadership, Dynamics has significantly grown from a handful of engineers to more than 200 employees. Dynamics has raised over $110 million dollars and counts MasterCard, the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce, Bain Capital Ventures, and Adams Capital Management as its investors. The company has launched products with banks in the United States and Canada and has won five Finovate Best of Show awards, two Cartes Sesames awards, a Best in Show award for Personal Electronics at the International Consumer Electronics Show (CES), and the $1M People's Choice Award at DEMO.
As a prolific inventor, Jeff has over 200 pending and issued patents ranging from mainstream consumer electronics for Apple, Inc., to children’s electronic toys for Anderson Press.
Jeff began his career at the law firm of Fish & Neave, which later merged with Ropes & Gray ('01-'07), where he was a patent attorney. Here, Jeff brought in millions of dollars of new business, managed a group of patent agents and attorneys, and prosecuted, licensed, and litigated patents as well as performed a variety of general corporate transactional work.
Mullen received a degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering at Carnegie Mellon ('01), a JD at New York Law School, Evening Division ('05), and an MBA from Carnegie Mellon’s Tepper School of Business, where he was a James R. Swartz (co-founder of Accel) Entrepreneurial Fellow. He is a member of the Patent Bar, New York Bar, and Connecticut Bar.
