Commonwealth Concepts and Mastercard launch Mastercard® Click to Pay to enhance payment experience for diners
May 31, 2024 | SingaporeCombining with QR Pay by Link, the solution enables a quick and secure password-free checkout experience for diners, empowering them to make payments with just a few taps on their mobile phones.
Making payments at dining establishments will be easier than ever before with Mastercard® Click to Pay, now rolled out with Commonwealth Concepts, a leading food and beverage operator managing over 15 distinct brands in Singapore. The new payment solution will be available at three of its brands – The Marmalade Pantry, PastaMania and Oriole Coffee + Bar.
Mastercard® Click to Pay offers a secure and convenient way for diners to pay for their meals without the need to use their physical cards or the hassle of manual card inputs for digital payments. Cardholders simply need to add their card details when they first enroll for Mastercard® Click to Pay, and the payment information will then be securely stored in their profile, enabling them to speed through future checkouts without the hassle of keying in passwords or card details again. The seamless checkout experience will be powered by leading restaurant and hospitality technology provider, Aigens. This solution leverages industry-leading technology from EMVCo's Secure Remote Commerce specifications to ensure a standardized, secure, and seamless checkout experience across all participating card schemes.
With QR Pay by Link as the gateway to Mastercard® Click to Pay at physical locations, diners can easily pay for their meals by scanning the QR code displayed by the merchant using their phone's camera, without the need for additional applications, and checkout securely in just a few taps. This enhances the overall payment experience for both consumers and merchants.
“Commonwealth Concepts has been a long-term strategic partner of Mastercard and we are honored to launch Mastercard® Click to Pay as we are constantly adopting new technology that provide both convenience and security to our customers. With Mastercard® Click to Pay, this provides another option for our customers to feel secure when making payment via our Order at Table platform and providing them with the ease of not having to key in their credit card details on their next visit to our outlets.” Brian Stampe, Chief Operating Officer of Commonwealth Concepts.
Commenting on its role, Hans Paul, Co-founder and CEO of Aigens, added, “Aigens is proud to be Commonwealth Concept’s chosen restaurant technology partner. Our deep understanding of restaurant technology and strong regional presence positions us perfectly to support Mastercard’s plans to scale QR Pay by Link across Singapore and Asia Pacific. We look forward to a continued partnership that unlocks the full potential of this innovative payment solution, empowering the F&B industry to deliver a frictionless and secure payment experience for their customers.”
“As consumers move towards an increasingly digital-first lifestyle, they expect enhanced convenience and security all at once. At the same time, as mobile payments rise in popularity and Singapore’s dynamic F&B scene continues to evolve, the need to deliver innovative concepts that elevate dining experiences becomes more pertinent. This partnership between Mastercard and Commonwealth Concepts is timely as it will provide cardholders with a smarter, quicker and secure way to pay, streamlining and simplifying the payment and checkout process, and enhancing their overall dining experience,” said Deborah Heng, country manager, Singapore, Mastercard.
