Mike Jones
Senior Vice President, Public Sector Lead, Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa

Mike Jones is the Senior Vice President, Public Sector Lead at Mastercard. In this role, he is responsible for aligning Mastercard's ecosystem, products and services to address challenges faced by governments – focusing on financial inclusion, citizen service efficiency, inclusive economic growth and operational excellence.

With more than 29 years of experience across Australia, New Zealand and EMEIA region, Mike specializes in providing consulting and advisory services across various clients, with a primary focus on innovative large-scale digital transformation programs for the public sector. With a strong track record of operating and influencing at Board, C-suite and Ministerial level, Mike has successfully led growth strategies and drove initiatives focused on digitizing the government.

Before joining Mastercard, Mike held pivotal roles at IBM, EY, Accenture, and a business startup, enabling him to bring diverse perspective and skills to his role. He also specializes in developing successful businesses and high-performing teams.

A thought leader on digital government, co-authored papers like “Building Australia’s Future in a Post COVID World,” which influenced key stakeholders in the Australian Government. He is passionate about people development and building diverse teams, successfully leading many team members to elevated roles, and significantly increasing the diversity of his teams through both organic growth and strategic acquisitions.

Throughout his career, Mike has worked across various sectors, including Federal and State Government, Healthcare, Defense, Policing and National Security, Major Sporting Events, Mega Events, Energy and Utilities, Manufacturing, Real Estate, and Telecoms.
