Onur Kursun
Head of New Payment Platforms, Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa

Onur Kursun is Head of New Payment Platforms, Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa (EEMEA) at Mastercard. He is responsible for enabling Mastercard’s multirail vision in 81 countries in the EEMEA region. In his capacity, Onur works very closely with banks, fintech, digital players and non-financial institutions and executes breakthrough projects.

He has over 20 years experience in payments, 15 of which has been within Mastercard. He has managed diverse geographies in Europe and played a key role in the development of key Mastercard products in the region. Onur has managed different business lines including Advisors, Digital, Core products, Loyalty, C&I and Strategy. 

Prior to his career at Mastercard, Onur worked as a management consultant with a number of key banks,  focusing on retail banking and payment systems in diverse geographies including USA, Russia, Middle East and Turkey.

Onur holds a B.Sc. degree in Industrial engineering from the Bosphorus University of Turkey as well as a joint M.Sc. degree in Finance & Economics from London School of Economics and Political Sciences.
