Suleyman Sozeri
Country Manager, Central Eastern Europe

Suleyman Sozeri serves as the Country Manager, overseeing the Central Eastern Europe Cluster (Central Asia countries, Belarus, Georgia, and Armenia) at Mastercard. With a robust background across public service and corporate leadership, Suleyman brings a wealth of experience to his role.

Prior to his current position, Suleyman served as the Head of Mastercard Enterprise Development for Eastern Europe, driving initiatives to foster business growth and innovation across the region. His career journey also includes pivotal roles as the Public Policy Director for Turkey, Azerbaijan, Ukraine, Moldova, and Georgia.

With extensive experience in both the public and private sectors, Suleyman spent four years as the External Affairs Director at BP for the Turkey-Georgia-Azerbaijan region, contributing to the successful execution of vital oil and gas pipeline projects. His tenure at the Turkish Ministry of Economy, spanning seventeen years, equipped him with invaluable insights as he held various key positions, including diplomat, chief advisor, and head of departments for economic affairs with Central Asia Countries.

Suleyman holds an undergraduate degree in Political Science from the Middle East Technical University, an MBA degree from the University of Rochester, and a PhD in Public Finance from Hacettepe University
