Sylvie Vermeersch
Senior Vice President, Franchise, Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa, Mastercard

Sylvie Vermeersch is the Senior Vice President, Franchise for the Eastern Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EEMEA) region at Mastercard. Based in Dubai, she leads the Franchise team, ensuring the preservation of the integrity and value of the network. Her responsibilities include fostering ongoing trust in the Mastercard brand, exploring innovative ways to leverage Mastercard's brands and network, and facilitating healthy business growth for Mastercard and our customers across the 81 countries of the EEMEA region.

Since joining Mastercard in 2010, Sylvie has gained multidisciplinary experience through distinct roles across various regions. She began her journey as a Senior Region Counsel in both the Europe region and the (then) MEA region, before assuming the position of Global Transformation Lead at Mastercard's Global HQ in Purchase, New York.

Committed to advancing diverse talent, Sylvie also serves as the Lead for the Mastercard Women Leadership Network (WLN) at the Dubai office.

Prior to joining Mastercard, Sylvie worked as a corporate lawyer with leading US and UK law firms in London and Brussels. She provided counsel to clients in industries ranging from telecom and technology to automotive and financial services. Additionally, she held an academic role as a teaching assistant to the Dean of the Faculty of Law at the University of Leuven, Belgium.

She holds a Master of Laws degree from King’s College, London, UK, and a Law degree from the University of Leuven, Belgium. She is also certified as an All Star Six Sigma Green Belt in Business Transformation.

Sylvie is fluent in English, French, and Dutch, with conversational abilities in Spanish and German.
