Baku, July 21, 2025- Mastercard  is supporting the development of inclusive and digital-first ecosystems across Azerbaijan through its participation in the launch of the TəhsilPlus card — the country’s first multifunctional card dedicated to education professionals. Introduced in partnership with the Education Development Fund and Kapital Bank, the initiative brings together public and private sector strengths to support the welfare and empowerment of over 450,000 teachers and administrative staff across all levels of the education system.

At the launch ceremony held in Baku, Mastercard emphasized its contribution to enabling the card’s digital features, highlighting the company’s commitment to using technology for positive social impact.

The TəhsilPlus card — powered by Mastercard — is a unique solution that combines multiple essential functions in a single, secure product. It serves as an employment ID, entry-exit badge, and debit bank card, allowing users to access their salaries, make cashless payments, benefit from discounts and cashback, and use Apple Pay and Google Pay for fast and secure transactions.

Cardholders will also gain access to Mastercard’s global Priceless Specials platform, opening the door to exclusive offers and experiences tailored to their lifestyle needs. As part of Mastercard’s long-term strategy in Azerbaijan, the card strengthens digital inclusion and financial empowerment within a key social group — educators.

The card will be made available to users starting from the new academic year, with a wide network of partners expected to join the initiative — extending the benefits even further. Mastercard’s involvement reinforces its position as a trusted innovation partner for government institutions, banks, and society at large.
