The Ministry of Economy of Ukraine and Mastercard sign a memorandum of cooperation as part of the ‘Made in Ukraine’ policy

The Ministry of Economy of Ukraine and global technology company Mastercard have signed a memorandum of cooperation within the framework of the ‘Made in Ukraine’ policy aimed at supporting Ukrainian businesses, promoting and boosting demand for domestic products and services, particularly through the implementation of the national cashback program for Ukrainian goods.

The document was signed by Yuliia Svyrydenko, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy of Ukraine, Yasemin Bedir, Eastern Europe Division President at Mastercard, and Inga Andreieva, General Manager of Mastercard in Ukraine and Moldova.

"A functioning business not only ensures a stable economy for the country but also contributes to our national security," Svyrydenko said. "The taxes paid by entrepreneurs go towards financing our security and defence sector, as well as our Armed Forces. Despite the challenges of war, constant missile attacks, blackouts, disrupted supply chains, and labor shortages, Ukrainian entrepreneurs persevere. That is why the Government’s ‘Made in Ukraine’ policy aims to support them, facilitate their development through various government programs, and stimulate demand for domestic products and services both in Ukraine and abroad. We are grateful to our partners who share our policy and priorities and are ready to collaborate with us in implementing them."

"We are excited to deepen our cooperation with the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine to foster the growth of country’s digital economy, introduce innovative solutions and empower Ukrainian entrepreneurs," Andreieva said. "We firmly believe that small and medium-sized enterprises form a crucial foundation for the development and prosperity of the Ukrainian economy, and in today’s challenging times, entrepreneurs especially need our support. Our partnership with the Ministry covers a wide range of initiatives, including the technical implementation of the national cashback program, which we are already working on."

The memorandum outlines the following areas of cooperation between the parties:

  • Providing support for small and medium-sized enterprises, including enhancing digitization efforts (digital solutions for payment acceptance, issuing electronic receipts, promoting awareness of innovative financial trends);
  • Establishing an expert and technological partnership to facilitate the implementation of the national cashback program for Ukrainian goods in support of the ‘Made in Ukraine’ platform;
  • Supporting the Ministry's communication campaigns aimed at enhancing the competitiveness of small and medium-sized enterprises.
